FCCI takes a step towards a United Community!

May 8, 2014

A special assembly of the Italian Canadian Community Foundation (FCCI) was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the Piccolo Teatro of Montreal’s Leonardo Da Vinci Center.
Following last week’s information session on the Unitas project, the thirty Governors in attendance at the Special Assembly took a long awaited step forward.   Following the presentation of proposed bylaw changes explained by the FCCI Secretary, Me Nicola Di Iorio, fellow Governors congratulated the Board of Fiduciaries on the success of this year long project. The amendments, approved unanimously, will allow representation of 4 major community organizations on the Foundation’s Board of Fiduciaries.
The Unitas project will bring together the following Italian community organizations: Canadian - Italian Business and Professional Association (CIBPA), National Congress of Italian-Canadians (NCIC), Centre Leonardo Da Vinci (CLDV), and Centre culturel de la Petite Italie‑Casa d'Italia (CCPI-Casa d’Italia) in order to better be prepared to face challenges effectively and efficiently as well as to mobilize the Italian community.
